Exit Through The Gift Shop
Banksy is a graffiti artist with a global reputation whose work can be seen on walls from post-hurricane New Orleans to the Palestinian segregation wall in the West Bank. Fiercely guarding his anonymity to avoid prosecution, Banksy has so far resisted all attempts to be captured on film. Exit Through the Gift Shop is the story of how an eccentric French shop keeper and amateur filmmaker attempted to locate and befriend Banksy, only to have the artist turn the camera back on its owner with spectacular results. The film contains exclusive footage of Banksy, Shepard Fairey, Invader and many of the world's most infamous graffiti artists at work.
Supple Fox managed and produced the official afterparty to celebrate the Australian premiere of the film, which was screened at ACMI cinema. The event was held at near by Misty Bar and in the surrounding laneways of the Hosier Lane street art precinct. The event was in collaboration with Until Never gallery who facilitated the commissioning of new work for the surrounding laneways to coincide with an exhibition in the gallery space featuring works by renowned American artist Shepard Fairey.
This event was produced for MADMAN entertainment who released and distributed the film in Australia and was held with the permission of the City of Melbourne.
